Global Music Project
participant in Millennium, the DNP 1996 Internet Exhibition

The expansion of the Internet marks the start of the new millennium. Language and distance are no longer barriers in an artistic collaboration.
The Global Music Project is a multi-cultural endeavor via the Internet where Trance Ambient musicians merge their sounds with the sounds of others.

Top three .wav submissions from Internet musicians and CRISUS .wav files on the following pages.

This music crosses cultural boundaries.
Its amorphous structure ebbs and flows with the rhythms of the body.
The process began with downloadable waveforms. These seeds grew into a musical composition with new sequences and variations created by participants from around the world.
Tom Murphy will weave the winning loops into a new tapestry of sound. Music is language without words. This vessel can take us into to the ancestral mind.
Our destination: a collective dream.

Global Music II

How does this work?
The jump start was my recent CRISUS performance mixing multi-tracking ambient sounds with guitars, waveform loops, synth beats and live musicians in a theatrical performance. Shamanistic drumming and droning underscored a dub mixing of loops and rhythmic waveforms.

The process continues with this global collaboration. Internet contributors download the waveforms available on our site, transform them in a waveform editor and send them back. New compositions will result from a mixing of submitted waveforms.
Feel free to download a wave and give it a try. We post new files regularly.
More performances are planned.
Good transformations.
