Tom and associates have meetings with the gatekeepers of the international marketplace.


JANUARY - MARCH, 2004

Spooky Films producer gets workout at UCLA Film School

Tom hones the Spirit Land feature film business strategy at UCLA's Independent Film Business and Marketing, a nine-week workshop led by Lenny Shapiro, Executive Producer of Dahmer.

The course culminated in a presentation of our business strategy to a panel of film producers and sales agents, followed by a full day of meetings at the American Film Market.


DECEMBER 30, 2003

Spooky Films LLC formed

Tom and Marta develop projects in Los Angeles intended for New Orleans production.

Cinetools becomes our software of choice for creating our film business plan.

Tom and Marta begin business strategy sessions with consultant Richard Stern, courtesy of Women In Film and the Los Angeles Business Development Center [SBDC].

Tom and Marta are awarded a Paul Verhoeven Scholarship to develop Spirit Land at the Los Angeles Film School's Feature Development Program.
Marta receives a Women In Film / Universal Studios grant.

Marta is a Semi-Finalist in the Chesterfield Writers Film Project, and in the prestigious Nicholl Fellowship Grant, awarded by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science.
